Guidelines for Visiting Non-UP Users

The UPLB University Library comprises several unit libraries spread out across the campus.

The core collections of a given research topic or inquiry may be found in the library where the related degree program/ course is offered.

It is advised to go to the KOHA online catalog to do a preliminary search of books, print journals, theses, or other library resources. The call number and location of books should be noted to determine the library/ies to be visited. You may also explore our RESOURCES page to check for more CEM-related materials.

Once you know the location of the materials, you may check the campus map below to better plan your route.

Non-UP researchers may access copies of the Abstract, Executive Summary, Review of Related Literature (RRL), and bibliography for a research fee of PHP 50.00 per request.

Payments should be made via GCash to Mr. Norman A. Banasihan, Special Collecting Officer, at 0916-412-0377. Please indicate “Document Delivery” in the message box when processing your payment.

Once the payment is completed, kindly send us proof of the transaction. Upon verification, we will provide a secure link to view the permitted pages of the requested document. Please note that downloading, copying, or sharing of the content is strictly prohibited.

Materials available in hardbound format may be accessed on-site, subject to the existing visitor policies. You may conveniently check the list of CEM manuscripts.

The University Knowledge Digital Repository (UKDR) access links are automatic only for users with UP Gmail accounts. Any access and share requests from external organizations and personal email accounts will be promptly declined.

The UPLB Libraries accept Non-UPLB researchers on MONDAYS only in compliance with the following requirements:

Alumni, former faculty members, and staff 

Must present a valid ID and UPAA Alumni Card or proof of former UP status. Entitled to five (5) days of free use of library resources within a semester. After that, a library fee of PHP 20.00 per visit will be charged.

Government researchers

Must present a valid office ID and referral letter* from the office’s Head Librarian. Entitled to five (5) days of free use of library resources within a semester. After that, a library fee of PHP 20.00 per visit will be charged.

Private researchers and students from private schools

Must present a valid office or school ID and referral letter* from the office’s or school’s head librarian. A research fee of PHP 50.00 is charged per visit.

Researchers from Ateneo de Manila and De La Salle University (Manila) are charged the same amount that they currently charge UPLB students per visit.

Public/ State University students

Must present a valid school ID and referral letter* from the school’s head librarian. A research fee of PHP 20.00 is charged per visit.

High school students

High school students at least 3rd year HS or Grade 9, Senior HS may use the library except for special collections which are restricted to Grades 9 and 10. Must present a valid school ID and referral letter from the school’s head librarian. A research fee of PHP 20.00 for public and PHP 50.00 for private is charged per visit.

*referral letter endorsing the researcher/s to use the UPLB Library resources subject to its existing rules and regulations. Specify in the letter if you wish to visit several libraries.
